Glapwell's preparations for the new season continued tonight with their second warm-up game inside three days at Hall Corner, and they easily overcame the challenge of Central Midlands Premier Division side Parkhouse FC, putting five goals past their plucky visitors without reply before the end.

Returning from holiday for his first start with new strike partner Neil Grayson, last season's top scorer Ian Brown opened the home side's account on 23 minutes and then bagged himself a brace nine minutes later as Glapwell dominated proceedings. Grayson then got his name on the scoresheet for the second game in a row with Glapwell's third two minutes before half time.

Half-time substitutes wrapped up the scoring after the interval, Mark Robinson, returning to Glapwell after two seasons away from the club, put the fourth away seven minutes after the restart and Jonathan Pickess fired in the fifth and final goal on 79 minutes.

And although Unibond new boys Glapwell were largely untroubled by the side from four divisions below them, Parkhouse at least made a sufficient fist of it so that it proved to be a useful workout for Les MacJannet's men as they look to improve on much-needed match fitness. Saturday's warm-up game against local rivals Northern Counties East League Premier Division side Shirebrook Town should prove to be a sterner test, however. That one kicks-off at 3.00pm at Hall Corner.
