On-loan signing Danny Reet bagged himself a brace of goals in Glapwell's final pre-season warm-up game, which ended with a comfortable 4-0 win for the visitors over Blidworth Welfare at the Welfare Ground tonight.

Unibond Division One South new boys Glapwell always looked to be in control against their Central Midlands Supreme Division opposition, however it still took them until just after the half-hour to break down Blidworth's stubborn resistance.

On 32 minutes, Reet found the back of the net for the first time in a Glapwell shirt when he rattled the ball home at the far post off Justin Burdett's cross from the right.

Neil Grayson doubled Glapwell's advantage six minutes later after neat build-up play by the visitors on the right left Michael Fox clear to cross from the byline and find the striker's head 8 yards from goal.

Three minutes after the interval, a quick throw by Colin Cockerill released Reet down the left, who then cut inside to score his second between goalkeeper and near post, after shaking off the attentions of two Blidworth defenders.

It was pretty much all one way in the visitors' favour after that, but Glapwell struggled to find the back of the net again despite creating several good chances, including a Jonathan Pickess penalty saved on 75 minutes.

However, Jake Williams finally hit the target with a fine strike across the keeper from 16 yards on the right, after he was put through by a neat ball from Burdett six minutes before the end of the game. Like Reet, it was Williams' first goal in a Glapwell shirt.

One concern from the match is that left-sided defender Simon Wright limped out after just 18 minutes, making him doubtful for the club's opening league game away at Spalding United on Saturday.

That one kicks-off at 3 o'clock , for which the players' coach leaves Hall Corner at 11.30am . A limited number of seats are available on the coach for supporters.
